A dense South American wood with a bright red color. These are heavy bones with lots of sound. One of our more popular woods.

Cherry

A beautiful domestic hardwood with a reddish-orange color. It has a sweet mid-range tone and volume. Cherry is the most popular material for our beginning customers.

Ebony

An extremely dense African hardwood which has been considered the premium choice of material for rhythm bones for years. Ebony is the number one choice of many expert players.

Ironwood

Ironwood (hop hornbeam) is native to the UP. It's a really tough dense wood that is white to light brown in color. Has a similar weight and tone to bloodwood and ebony.

Mahogany

We use Honduran mahogany which is a premier quality instrument wood. A reddish brown color and a little on the light side of medium in weight. It has a great sound.
